Sustainable Surplus Exchange Participates in
World’s Largest EarthFair at Balboa Park

County Supervisor Dave Roberts stops by the SSE booth
at EarthFair to offer his support.

Sustainable Surplus Exchange was honored to join 300 other exhibitors at EarthFair 2015 in Balboa Park. San Diego EarthWorks did a fantastic job putting together the largest Earth Day event in the world that drew about 60,000 attendees from all walks of life. SSE volunteers enjoyed the beautiful San Diego day by sharing our mission with the many folks who stopped by to chat. We love to spread the word about “Turning Corporate Excess into Community Assets,” but we also love meeting other great organizations and supporting what they do too.
San Diego County Supervisor Dave Roberts was on hand to offer encouragement to the SSE team and to promote “Live Well San Diego,” a program initiated by county supervisors to foster the health, safety and well-being of all San Diegans. Learn more about this program HERE.

The Sustainable Surplus booth was located in the “Reuse and Repair” section of the sprawling Balboa Park grounds. Some of our neighbors included Kill the Cup, Ssubi.org, Zero Waste San Diego, Goodwill Industries, Habitat for Humanity, and many more great organizations dedicated to reducing our landfill waste.

Sustainable Surplus Participates in "Carlsbad, Love It!"

CEO Sue Prelozni speaks about Passion
Sustainable Surplus participated in the second annual Carlsbad Love It! – Neighborhoods Empowerment Conference.  The theme this year was “Working Together to Build & Sustain Healthy Neighborhoods.”
SSE’s founder and CEO, Sue Prelozni, presented with City of Carlsbad Community Coordinator Housing and Neighborhood Services, Sue Irey, on “Taking Your Passion to Action,” to support your community. Their workshop focused on how someone may take an idea that they are passionate about and create an organization.  Much of the subject matter was based upon Ms. Prelozni’s experience in creating Sustainable Surplus.
